Do you want to know what it takes to produce a daily six-minute podcast and how AI helps? Iโm going to take you through my process in this episode.
Welcome back to AI SIX, I’m Joanne Sweeney, and this is where we talk about AI for marketing, communications, and business, just six minutes at a time.
I get asked a lot, How do I keep up a daily podcast while running a business, teaching, and speaking across Europe? The answer is sitting right in front of you. AI helped me make this episode, from script to edit to promotion, and I’m about to show you exactly how. But it still takes time to bring you six podcasts every single week.ย
Planning & Scripting
I use the Notes app on my phone, and it has a note called โAI SIX ideas.โ So when I have an idea, read a news article, read a newsletter, or see a YouTube or TikTok video that inspires me, I add my own hook to the note.ย
Then, usually on Fridays, I expand those ideas by recording voice notes into ChatGPT. I download my stream of consciousness – whatโs the story, why it matters, whatโs my own opinion, what are others saying, how does it apply to marketing, comms, public sector or business. Thatโs the structural formula.ย
So that requires 2-3 minutes per episode of brain-dumping.
Then I move to Perplexity to see what news, industry insight, or commentary is happening. Iโll also use Gemini as itโs great to find videos, as itโs Googleโs LLM, and we know Google owns YouTube.
For complex topics where I donโt have an expert to interview, I use NotebookLM to break down long reports and extract key themes.
There are three of us working on AI SIX. I research, produce, and voice the podcast. Lochalinn is my podcast editor, and either Jess or Joanna, my marketing assistants, will manage the blog post, uploading to Buzzsprout for podcast optimisation and syndication, and they also prepare and publish the social media posts. They will also be promoted in my weekly e-zine.ย ย
Sometimes Iโll write a longer piece on LinkedIn or repurpose it for my weekly marketing and tech slot on Dublin City FM.ย
As a team, we collaborate on Monday.com and Google Drive, tracking scripts and deadlines.
Recording & Editing
I record with a simple mic setup, then Adobe Podcast Enhance cleans up the audio, removing background noise and leveling volume. Descript lets me edit audio like a Word doc, cutting out ums and long pauses. OpusClip automatically creates short social clips with captions. When I need YouTube timestamps for longer content, Gemini handles that perfectly. What used to take hours now takes minutes.
Canva creates my social graphics with AI-powered copy suggestions. ChatGPT writes platform-specific captions, LinkedIn gets professional, and Instagram gets casual. AgoraPulse schedules everything and tracks engagement. Buzzsprout handles syndication to Spotify, Apple, and Amazon, and every other podcast platform you can think of, while giving me analytics to see what topics are resonating and where people are tuning in from. Opus Clip repurposes the long-form Saturday interview into shorter teaser clips for social media.ย
Here’s where it gets interesting: I use AI to analyse listener feedback and identify common themes. Those insights shape future episodes. AI helps me tailor responses to different audience segments, making this one-to-many medium feel one-to-one. It’s how you build community, not just reach.
So there you have it, an entire podcast made with AI, about making podcasts with AI. If this helped you, share it with someone thinking of starting a podcast. Subscribe for tomorrow’s episode, where we’ll explore AI in customer service.ย

Production Timeline
With twelve AI tools and just over two hours of work, I can turn one idea into a six-minute episode that reaches thousands of listeners across multiple platforms. That’s the power of AI-assisted content creation. But thereโs a lot of human input – in fact, three humans are involved in getting this podcast to you.
| Stage | Time Required | Activities |
| Research & Preparation | 1 hour | Topic research, script writing, content planning |
| Recording | Included above | Topic research, script writing, and content planning |
| Team Collaboration | 15 minutes | Script review, feedback, coordination |
| Editing | 20 minutes | Audio editing, transcript generation, clip creation |
| Publishing & Promotion | 30 minutes | Upload to platforms, website posting, social media |
| Total per Episode | 2 hours 5 minutes | For 6 minutes of content |
While AI helps, there are three to four humans in the loop and care to bring you content that makes a difference to you, even if itโs only six minutes a day. But the compound effect of those six minutes will be transformational. Trust me, the two hours the team spends on each episode have been for me and us.
