AI Six Podcast Episode 168: Digital Twins, Your AI Self

By

Are you prepared to clone yourself and create a Digital Twin? If you are a regular listener to this podcast you will know I am prepared to do it, as I’m currently working on AIJ, my Digital Twin.

Hello and welcome back to the AI SIX podcast. In this week’s long-listen, I bring you another interview from Digital Download on Good Morning Dublin, I join Michael O’Kane on Dublin City FM to explore the rise of AI Twins, where artificial intelligence meets identity.

From brands building digital mascots and AI-powered customer service clones, to celebrities licensing their likeness for film roles and the growing influence of virtual humans, we discuss the cultural and commercial impact of this emerging trend.

So, What Is a Digital Twin?

Think of a digital twin as your AI alter ego. It’s not just an avatar or a cartoon character; it’s a lifelike version of you that looks like you, sounds like you, and even picks up your mannerisms.

This technology is already here. In fact, it’s in the news because celebrity Katie Price has just trademarked her AI version, AI Jordan, signing a six-figure commercial deal to bring her digital twin to life. AI Jordan will feature in ads and online videos — a powerful example of how this technology is opening new commercial and creative opportunities.

The Rise of AI Influencers and Virtual Humans

We’re already seeing brands and creators use AI avatars to represent themselves online. Some tech companies in the U.S. have replaced on-camera staff with digital presenters who handle demos, explainers, and even sales conversations.

And it’s not just about human likeness anymore — some brands are building entirely fictional influencers powered by AI. These “people” don’t exist, yet they have followers, partnerships, and paychecks.

As I said during the interview, this raises big questions: Are we ready for digital influencers that aren’t real? And what does that mean for human creators and the marketing industry?

Creating Your Own Digital Twin

Here’s the thing, anyone can do it.

You can upload a photo or short video, record a few lines in your own voice, and let AI do the rest. Tools like Caption or ChatGPT Pro allow you to generate lifelike avatars that can appear in videos, presentations, or even art pieces.

I’ve already experimented with this, creating both a digital version of myself and a completely fictional one. It only took a few minutes!

If you’re curious, try it for fun, turn yourself into a Lego figure, a cartoon, or even a Renaissance painting. It’s a great way to learn how AI interprets your digital identity.

What Does This Mean for You and Me?

The everyday person will soon interact with, and maybe even become, a digital twin. Imagine having your AI self:

  • Answering questions from your website visitors.
  • Hosting webinars while you’re on another call.
  • Creating content or pitching ideas in your own voice.

That’s what I’m building with AIJ — my digital self who’ll share my expertise while I’m teaching, speaking, or podcasting.

Final Thoughts: The Future Is Personal

Digital twins represent the next evolution of how humans and technology coexist. They’ll change how we present ourselves, how we connect with audiences, and how we work.

The big question now isn’t can we create them, it’s should we, and how will we use them responsibly?

Whether you love it or fear it, your AI self might just be closer than you think.
