AI Six Podcast Episode 217: Vibe Coding for Beginners

By

What if you could build an app, website, or campaign tool just by describing it? No coding, no complex software, no waiting on developers, just your ideas, your words, and an AI that brings it all to life.

That’s the promise of vibe coding, one of the most fascinating shifts happening in artificial intelligence right now.

What Is Vibe Coding?

Vibe coding is what happens when you take the creative, human part of a brief, the story, the idea, the intention, and let AI handle the rest.

You don’t need to write a single line of code. You simply describe what you want in plain English, and the AI builds it for you, right before your eyes.

One of the most exciting tools in this space is Lovable, a platform that enables solopreneurs, communications professionals, and small teams to create fully functioning apps, websites, and automations through natural language prompts.

As one early adopter, Ishan Sharma, describes it: “Simple and easy, that’s the essence of vibe coding.”

From Prompts to Products

This marks a huge leap forward for AI. We’re moving from text to tools, from prompts to products.

For those of us working in communications, marketing, or storytelling, this shift offers a huge creative advantage. We already know how to brief, how to articulate what we want, who it’s for, and why it matters.

Now, that ability to describe and direct can directly translate into building something functional and tangible, without the need for a developer in the middle.

What Can You Build?

The possibilities are endless. Using vibe coding tools like Lovable, Replit Agent, VO Biversal, or Bolt.new, you can create:

  • A landing page that captures leads and connects to your newsletter.
  • An event registration app or press list manager.
  • A digital portfolio for campaigns or storytelling assets.
  • An internal dashboard to track communications activity or media coverage.

All of this happens through a conversational interface — you talk your way to the build, refining it as you go.

How to Start Vibe Coding

If you’d like to try it yourself, here’s a simple framework I shared in the episode:

  1. Define the outcome – What do you want to exist that doesn’t yet? Think about the function, not the technology.
  2. Describe the experience – How should it feel for the person using it? That’s the “vibe” part — the tone, simplicity, and joy of immediate results.
  3. Choose your tool – Start with Lovable, or test others like Replit Agent and Bolt.new.
  4. Collaborate conversationally – Treat AI as your creative partner. Ask it to tweak, refine, and improve.

If you’re building something that handles data, payments, or goes public, always have a technical expert review it for security and compliance. Think of that as your safety net, not a blocker.

Creative Freedom for Communicators

We’re stepping into a phase of AI where ideas can be instantly built.

Communicators can now move from brief to build, from story to system, without needing to rely on developers. That’s an extraordinary shift — one that puts creative freedom directly in your hands.

So, if you’ve got an idea for an app, microsite, or campaign tool, maybe it’s time to try vibe coding. I’ve already started experimenting — and when my creation is ready, I’ll be sure to share it with you.
