AI Six Podcast Episode 223: 6 Ways to Use Agentic AI

By

Agentic AI is being integrated into most Large Language Models, and so I thought I’d share with you how you can test it in your daily workflows.

A reminder: Agentic AI can take a broad goal and carry it out on its own. It plans, runs, and adjusts multi-step workflows, handles complexity, and improves how things are done. It operates across multiple platforms and systems to complete tasks.

Today, I am sharing six simple ways you can start testing Agentic AI to optimise your workflows and save time. Think of it as getting the time-consuming tasks off your plate while you keep control.

6 Ways to Use Agentic AI

1) Email summary and actions

Set up a smart assistant to scan your inbox, key client threads, and internal updates, then give you one daily page: what happened, what matters, and what to do next. It can even draft replies for you to approve. You are still the decision-maker. The assistant just clears the noise so you can focus.

Guardrail: Draft-only rights for the agent, and it must show the exact line in the email that triggered a task.

2) New customer onboarding

If new clients slip through the cracks, hand the pre-call setup to a helper. It sends a personal welcome, collects intake details with a short form, checks your CRM so you do not create duplicates, and books a time that suits both sides. You see a final review screen before anything goes out.

Guardrail. Limit it to your onboarding pipeline and keep approval for calendar invites..

3) Knowledge base management

If your content library is a mess, get a tidy-up agent. It reviews transcripts, presentations and webinars, training materials, flags anything out of date, suggests updated references with links, and connects related files so you can find examples fast when you are writing. Nothing changes without your sign-off.

Guardrail. All edits land in a staging area with a short note on why the change is needed.

4) Multi-format content repurposing

One podcast recording can become many assets. Give your agent the podcast transcript and a simple style guide. It drafts a blog, a LinkedIn article, a handful of social posts, a newsletter intro, and ideas for short videos. You review, tweak, and publish only what works.

Guardrail. If the agent is unclear about something, it leaves a visible placeholder for you to fill, rather than guessing.

5) Literature scanning and summaries

Staying up to date with everything that is happening in your industry is tough; it’s overwhelming. That’s how I feel about AI. You can set your agent to watch academic papers, EU updates, and think-tank reports, even key voices you respect in your sector. Each week, it ranks what is new, explains why it matters, and gives you short summaries with links. You read the top items and move on.

Guardrail. Ask for citations and links for all references.

6) Stakeholder and issue mapping

Your agent tracks mentions across your sector, policy, and media, then builds a working map of organisations and voices. It shows why someone ranks and suggests whom to contact. You review the top names before you reach out.

Guardrail. Flag look-alike names and anything that feels like a bot for a manual check by a human in the loop.

So what tools can you use to test?

If your tools and files live in Google Workspace and most of your work is content creation, go with ChatGPT. Connect Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and your favourite document app, then use the Responses API to script reliable multi-step jobs. You keep approvals in your task system, give it draft-only access, and measure acceptance rates so you know it is actually saving time.

If your organisation runs on Microsoft 365 and you care about governance, audit trails, and data residency, choose Microsoft Copilot with Copilot Studio. You can build agent flows that sit inside Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, with role-based access and approvals that match how your IT already works. It is well-suited to onboarding workflows, knowledge base upkeep in SharePoint, and email triage in Outlook. You stay in the M365 security model, limit the agent to the right libraries and mailboxes, and get full sign-off for compliance.

Pick one of these Agentic use-cases to try this week. Keep it simple, keep approval in your hands, and measure the time you get back.
