Special Episode to Share our New News!

Today’s show is a bit different to our other 55 episodes.

In this episode I wanted to share our news with our loyal listeners, viewers and followers.

In 2017 I created Public Sector Marketing Institute, a dedicated sub-brand of Digital Training Institute. I knew for a few years that I wanted to scale and diversify my business by going niche and after lots of thinking, even more mentoring and support from my business coaches, I followed by heart.

Now public sector marketing is not a topic that the mainstream marketer might get excited about. But I do.

Since 2017 we have created a strong authoritative footprint and positioned ourselves as experts based on what we have created and delivered.

  • > We have hired a CIO
  • > Who is it?
  • > What's our expansion plans?
  • > Meet our new team member

2022 was a year to take a step up after building the foundations of the Public Sector Marketing Institute brand.

So, I’m here today to announce an expansion of our team.

We have appointed a Chief Operations Officer who will work closely with me to help us impact more people.

We exist to improve digital communications in the public interest.

Our work protects democracy, promotes good digital citizenship and encourages trusted and transparent communications within government and public sector.

Let me introduce you to our Chief Operations Officer, Sophie Sweeney.

Sophie is a chartered accountant, chartered tax advisor, part-time tax lecturer in NUI, Galway, trained in a big four accountancy firm. She is also my daughter. The relevance of our relationship is that she has worked in some guise in the business since she was 14, that’s 12 years of experience and shadowing me and more recently consulting the business. She is a competent digital marketer and I taught her telephone skills by getting her to pitch PR stories to journalists.

So, let’s hear from Sophie and find out her motivation to move from accounting practice to the family business.
