AI Six Podcast Episode 38: How to Use AI Voice in Marketing

By

Your voice is your stream of consciousness—ideas forming in real time, flowing from thought to speech in nanoseconds. But are we using it enough in marketing?

In this episode, I’ll explore why voice is the most natural way to ideate, how AI voice synthesis can extend that power, and why we should be speaking more, not less, in our creative process.

As a trained broadcast journalist, professional speaker, and podcaster, you could say I love my voice. I am also a huge fan of radio, podcasts, and audiobooks. It’s my favourite method of consuming content.

So knowing that it will come as no surprise that I am really enjoying experimenting with audio and voice through AI. And in this episode I’m inviting you to get curious about how you can use AI voice in marketing.

Video content is still king, but producing high-quality voiceovers can be costly and time-consuming. AI-generated voiceovers from tools like ElevenLabs, Descript, or Murf AI can help you:

✅ Convert written scripts into professional-grade narration.
✅ Experiment with different voice styles, accents, and tones.
✅ Produce quick-turnaround content for social media, explainer videos, or public service announcements.

For cash-strapped teams, this is an easy way to keep your audiences informed and engaged without spending weeks in production.

So how can you practically use AI voice? Here are 5 ideas to get started with.

AI-Powered Chatbots & Voice Assistants

AI voice isn’t just for videos; it can transform customer service, too. Imagine having a 24/7 voice assistant answering citizen queries, providing real-time updates, or guiding people through services.

📌 Example: A local council could implement a voice-enabled chatbot on their website to answer common questions about bin collection, planning applications, or road closures.

With tools like Dialogflow or Amazon Polly, you can integrate AI voice into websites, apps, or phone lines to create a seamless experience.

AI-Powered Podcasts & Audio Content

Creating engaging podcasts or audio content is another smart way to use AI voice. If you don’t have time to record episodes manually, AI can narrate them for you.

💡 Idea: Public sector organisations could create a weekly AI-generated podcast summarising policy updates, funding opportunities, or public health messages.

Even better, you can use AI to repurpose blogs, newsletters, or reports into short, digestible audio clips that can be shared on LinkedIn, YouTube, or Spotify.

Personalised AI Voice Ads

Dynamic, personalised audio ads are already being used by brands, and AI voice makes it even easier to scale.

🎯 Imagine tailoring public awareness campaigns based on location, demographics, or user behaviour.

🚗 Example: A public transport agency could generate AI-powered radio or digital audio ads reminding commuters of service updates, roadworks, or public transport changes.

With AI, you can easily A/B test different versions, voices, or tones to see what resonates best with your audience.

AI Voice for Multilingual Content

One of the biggest advantages of AI voice is its ability to generate content in multiple languages, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.

🌍 Example: An EU institution trying to engage citizens across 27 member states could translate important announcements into all official EU languages and have them narrated by an AI voice assistant—without hiring multiple voice actors.

This is particularly useful for health campaigns, emergency alerts, or legal guidance where clear communication is critical.

AI Voice in E-Learning & Training

AI voice can also enhance staff training, e-learning, and knowledge-sharing.

👩‍🏫 Example: A public sector organisation could use AI voice to narrate compliance training, onboarding videos, or internal knowledge hubs.

Instead of using robotic text-to-speech, today’s AI voices sound natural and engaging, making learning more accessible for employees who prefer audio over reading.
